You'll learn how service agencies deal with troubled children and their families, (the courts, police, child protection and juvenile probation).You'll gain an understanding of the rights and obligations of teachers, students and schools in handling suspected child abuse, juvenile delinquency, the rehabilitative model for dealing with juvenile offenders, truancy (how schools, police and courts deal with it and strategies that work), how to deal with chemically abusing students, zero tolerance of harassment, school discipline and how teachers can protect themselves from claims of physical and sexual abuse of students.
